Dawn has a Type 2 outlet (not a fixed cable). Users connect their own charging cable, making it flexible for different car brands and installation types.

Do I need an external RCD?

No, Dawn has built-in RCD and DC fault protection. This eliminates the need for external protective equipment, simplifying and reducing installation cost.

Dawn was designed by Joachim Nordwall, former chief designer at supercar maker Koenigsegg. He designs the entire Charge Amps product family — Aura, Halo, Luna and Dawn.

How does Dawn differ from Luna and Aura?

Dawn is the mid-range model with Type 2 outlet, MID meter, RFID and built-in RCD — perfect for co-ops and businesses. Luna is the compact home charger with V2G preparation. Aura is the premium model with dual 22 kW outlets and IP66.

Can I install multiple Dawn units on the same site?

Yes, multiple Dawn units can be installed in series. With OCPP support and Amp Guard load balancing as an add-on, power is distributed dynamically between all units. The Charge Amps cloud platform provides central management of all charging points.
